You have the egg. There is another chest nearby, a fight you think you can win, and enough time on the clock to talk yourself into both.
Egg Heist rewards the decision to leave. Team Mode gives a group of one to three Pathfinders a 30-minute Lost Isles run, but an impressive backpack becomes a reward only when the extraction succeeds. The small decisions after finding an egg often matter more than the fight that earned it.
Your support slots do not cast the whole kit
Slot 1 is the Aniimo you fight as. Slots 2, 3 and 4 briefly appear to cast their Core Skill, then return you to the active Aniimo. A support pick needs to solve a problem through that specific skill.
For example, Leafy supplies Vitality Blooms from a support slot. You do not also get every other move in Leafy's kit. Fill the slots around the active creature's needs: recovery, usable EP and a buff that helps its damage plan.
The team-building guide separates support behaviour by activity. Before copying a lineup, open each support's Core Skill and check what you can actually call during a run. A familiar creature name is not enough to explain why the team works.
Check the loadout the mode will take
Egg Heist has its own equipment and battle setup. Inspect the deployed roster before queueing, then check the Attack Amplifier, Protective Unit, chip slots and backpack together.
Slots and weight are different limits. A bag with room for another item can still exceed the weight budget; overload stops you moving until you drop something. If you need to abandon loot, make that choice somewhere safe instead of inside the next enemy group.

The Egg Heist gear guide covers socket compatibility and the equipment options. Treat a more expensive setup as something to evaluate against your route, rather than a reason to take a fight that your supplies no longer support.
Use the Safe deliberately
Unlocked Safe slots protect their contents through a failed run. Items stored there cannot be used until moved into the backpack. The protection is useful only when you remember which side of that boundary your next item needs to be on.
A spare key can wait in the Safe until you reach the door. Move it into the bag when it is time to use it. For valuables you want protected, make the storage decision before entering a risky fight.
Beginner Protection retains gear and backpack contents for the first three rounds of each Team Mode difficulty when extraction fails. Check the remaining protection on the difficulty you selected. Once it runs out, the cost of a failed experiment changes sharply.
Stop treating every new enemy as another damage check
Erlath now appears in Egg Heist with group support abilities. Prioritise it when you meet it, then deal with the rest of the pack. Spending your recovery while the enemy support keeps helping its allies makes a small encounter needlessly expensive.
Umbral Stellarys Alpha's crowd-control immunity also received a fix. Plan around dodging and recovery instead of relying on repeated control to carry the whole fight.
In cooperative Team Mode, submitted eggs are shared with the team on successful extraction. Keeping a teammate alive protects your own result too. The Egg Heist guide explains the route and the difference between the available queues.
Chaos entry should follow a repeatable route
Chaos requires Tier IV, Elite Egg Seeker, and a Chaos Ticket. Its improved Prismana egg and collectible opportunities come with stricter escape conditions.
Practise the pieces you still mishandle before spending a ticket: calling the right support, managing weight, finding the exit and knowing when the next room is too much. A reliable shorter route gives you something to build on.
The chest you leave unopened is sometimes the reason the egg makes it home.
