Pathfinder skill tree and title progression

The Pathfinder skill tree has 27 talents: 9 active tools and 18 passives. Both use Report Cards. Spend for the activity you are doing, and check each upgrade’s own title requirement before saving for it.

One cumulative purchase route, using only the listed promotion rewards

Follow the purchases in order across all rows for this example. The route satisfies the title, previous-rank and branch-spending requirements within the listed rewards. Active talents count cards in learned actives; passive talents count cards in learned passives. Swapping between branches changes those totals, so check the next gate if you alter the route. Extra Report Cards can bring a purchase forward; your title must still qualify.

Grappling Gun is not a positioned tree node: Grappling Gun costs two Report Cards and requires the Wayfarer II title, but its unlock route still needs confirmation in game. View its demonstrations in the player skill catalog. It is listed separately from the tree budget; Space Master is also excluded from the talent totals.

Know the full upgrade budget

The 27 positioned talents contain 43 purchasable ranks. Active ranks cost 13 Report Cards and passive ranks cost 80, for 93 in total. Listed promotion rewards through Trailblazer I total 46 Report Cards. The following Intermediate Trailblazer reward raises that to 56, still 37 short of the whole tree.

One budget for both branches: Buying an active tool now uses cards you could spend on a passive. You cannot fund every talent from the listed promotion rewards alone. These are client-configured costs and reward displays; confirm the actual grant when you promote.

The most useful first priorities

Buy a tool that removes a current obstacle before a bonus you will rarely trigger. For a new character with no immediate puzzle requirement, these purchases have broad value.

  1. 1Enable Mode Switch

One Report Card opens Catch, Attack and Defense modes.

  2. 2Raise Master Trainer when each rank opens

Its four ranks cost 1, 2, 3 and 3 Report Cards and increase Aniimo EXP from catches, defeats and EXP items by 10%, 15%, 20% and 30%. The ranks require Student I, Student III, Wayfarer II and Trailblazer I respectively. They support the leveling route.

  3. 3Open the capture shop tier you need

Pro Catcher costs one card and unlocks Aniipod Pro purchases. Master Catcher costs two and adds Mega, Hyper, Trace and Tumbler purchases. Compare their uses in the catching guide.

  4. 4Add movement or recovery

Aeroboard and Heal each cost one card at Student I. Aeroboard is stamina-free and works in Astra; Heal restores an engaged Aniimo’s HP. Use the hover demonstrations in the skill tree to inspect both Pathfinder appearances.

  5. 5Choose a repeatable combat bonus

Enhanced Twining reaches 25% extra Aniimo damage after twining. Elemental Boost reaches 10% increased counter effect. Choose the effect your normal rotation uses, then check the later title gate for each rank.

04

Choose a route for the content you play

    • Level and economy

Up to 30% more Aniimo EXP and 30% more reporting Credits

      • Master Trainer
      • Research Expert
    • Catching

More pod stock, repeated capture attempts without fainting the target, and a wider targeting range

      • Pro Catcher
      • Master Catcher
      • Bubble Gun
      • Sure Shot
    • Exploration

Travel in Astra, remote puzzle interaction and breaking hard objects

      • Aeroboard
      • Gravity Pull
      • Mega Mallet
    • Boss combat

Alpha/Omega damage, stronger counters, BREAK damage and faster Ultimate charging

      • Boss Breaker
      • Elemental Boost
      • Measured Strike
      • Fast Charge
    • Twining combat

Extra post-twine damage, instant twining and up to 10% increased resistance effect

      • Enhanced Twining
      • Quick Twine
      • Elemental Ward
Useful talents by play style
Use the title requirement for the rank you want: Quick Twine requires Student III and 8 Report Cards in learned passives. Bubble Gun requires Wayfarer II and 5 cards in learned actives. Elemental Boost rank 2 needs 8 cards in learned passives; rank 4 needs 56. These are separate branch totals, even though both branches spend the same item. Open the rank list before choosing your next purchase.

Twining talents and the titles that open them

Three talents act on Twining itself, and every rank carries its own title requirement. Enhanced Twining is the damage one and climbs through five ranks. Quick Twine removes the transform delay. Call Friends is configured outside the positioned rows, the way Grappling Gun is, so it sits beside the tree budget rather than inside it.

The title opens the rank; the branch total pays for it: Enhanced Twining rank 3 also needs 16 Report Cards already spent in learned passives, rank 4 needs 40 and rank 5 needs 56. Quick Twine needs 8. Holding the title is only half the requirement, so check the branch total before you save for a rank.

Exceptional-evolution talents are target purchases

Four passives unlock an exceptional branch for one species each. Buy one when that evolution is your goal. Check its other conditions in the evolution guide; the talent alone does not complete the evolution.
