What Ecological Investigation is

The Institute publishes an investigation list and you complete it by catching the listed Aniimo. Points land once per target: catching the same species again adds nothing.

Form is checked. Only a catch in the same form the list names completes that line, which is what sends most players back out for a weather or regional variant they already own in another shape.

Later rounds appear in the event tab as Idyll Ecology Field Notes. It is the same event type with a longer window.

How to take part

1. Open the list before you go outIt changes with the 04:00 reset during the launch block, so read it first and plan one route that covers several targets.
2. Check the form on every lineA listed Rainstorm or regional form only counts when you catch that exact form.
3. Prioritise species you have never registeredFirst-time completion on an unregistered Aniimo pays double points.
4. Claim the milestonesAccumulated Investigation Points unlock milestone rewards at fixed thresholds.

The best line of play

• Run the list before anything else on a reset day. It rewards catching you were going to do anyway, and the points are the only part with an expiry.
• Keep a mental list of species you have not registered. Those lines are worth two ordinary targets each.
• Weather and time-of-day forms are the usual blockers. The atlas filters by form, which is faster than walking a region hoping the weather turns.
