Catch 20 Hoptail in Aniimo Discovery for a Shining Hoptail Egg with guaranteed Perfect Potential. For the Hoptail Soul, finish the entire Catch Aniimo tab, which also requires a Hoptail rated Elite or higher. The Soul opens Bolty’s Hoptail evolution branch, so there’s a reason to finish the rating objective even after earning the egg.

Reach Blitzwood before spending a search
Travel to the ridge just north of Blitzwood’s Bloom in Breezy Plains. Then open Events → Aniimo Discovery → Search and follow the marked area on the ridge. Search draws a temporary group containing Hoptail and Bolty. The group lasts 10 minutes, so making the trip before you press Search gives you more time to identify your target and throw.
Hoptail has blue and white fur with yellow markings and a long spring-like tail. Read the target name before throwing, especially when the group crowds together. Check its displayed level against your catch cap too. Student II opens the event, while the target’s level still matters for the catch. The catching guide explains the title caps and Aniipod effects.
Use the refill dates to plan your remaining catches
Each window offers three free searches. Searches four and five cost one Vein Essence each. Free attempts expire at the refill, so skipping a window leaves fewer opportunities later in the event.

For example, if your first six searches net 17 catches, you need three more Hoptail for the egg. A new window gives you three fresh free attempts, and you can decide on paid attempts after seeing how many catches those free searches produce. Hoptail count and Potential can vary.
The last window ends November 20 at 03:59 server time. In Pacific time, that’s November 19 at 11:59 AM PST on APAC, 7:59 PM on Europe, or 11:59 PM on Americas. The reset timer helps identify which service clock you’re playing on.

A Perfect catch also satisfies the Elite-or-higher objective. If you reach 20 catches with that objective still open, you can collect the egg while the Soul stays on the tab’s completion row. Use your first catch to advance the Research Center
Once Hoptail joins your party, the other two research tabs give you progress between Search windows. Aniimo Trials tracks defeats with Hoptail deployed at 1, 3 and 5. Aniimo Companions tracks 1, 3 and 5 skill uses plus one use of its Ultimate, Bouncy.
These objectives feed the Research Center alongside catches. For example, the 3-catch milestone, three Trials objectives and four Companions objectives make eight completed quests, enough to finish Nova Secrets and Potential Secrets. That puts their encounter and Potential boosts to work on later searches. The Soul still depends on clearing the separate Catch Aniimo tab.
Take a level 33 Bolty down the Hoptail branch
With the Hoptail Soul earned, bring a level 33 or higher Bolty and one Gust Stone to the evolution screen, then select Hoptail. It’s a Wind and Lightning DPS with Climb Lv. 3 and High Jump. Evolving a Bolty you already raised gives you another route to Hoptail while the event egg is in a Hatchinator.
If you already have Hoptail and a contracted Held Item whose enhanced skill failed to appear, the November 6 fix gives the recovery action for that item.
