How the Irisalis unlock works
The launch version replaced the repeatable Rift Exploration event with this crafted encounter.
Progress
Keeps filling every week
Collect Irisalis Petals through Breezy Plains exploration, story chapters, Journey Quests and other activity sources. Collection milestones also award Glimmer.
Crafting
Spend 99 Irisalis Petals to craft your own personal Legendary Aniipod: Irisalis, the entry ticket to Irisalis’s exclusive story encounter, Rift Exploration: Irisalis. Without the pod in your bag, the rift turns you away.
Encounter
Crafted once
Enter the rift, defeat Irisalis: Rampage, then choose Soothe and hold Become allies! to twine with her. A Bonding cutscene closes the encounter, and the rift closes to you once Irisalis follows you.
Collect Irisalis Petals
Irisalis Petals come from Main Story and Journey Quests, gathering, Alpha first clears, Elite Pathfinder Challenges, Branch Nurturing, Silver Badges and Aniimo research topics. Some sources have story requirements or belong to limited events. Use the petal source catalog to compare the entries.
The main story alone pays 12 of the 99, and all of them land late: 2 in Journey to Bloomville, 4 in Flowers and Butterfly Shadows and 6 in Rainbow of the Ground. The main story walkthrough lists which quest pays which, so you can see how much of the total is already coming to you before you plan a petal run.
| Petals collected | Milestone reward |
|---|---|
| 20 | 50 Glimmer |
| 40 | 100 Glimmer |
| 60 | 150 Glimmer |
| 80 | 200 Glimmer |

Craft the Legendary Aniipod
Spend 99 Irisalis Petals to craft your own personal Legendary Aniipod: Irisalis. The pod is your entry ticket to Rift Exploration: Irisalis: without it in your bag, the game answers “Requires a Legendary Aniipod.” You do not throw it at Irisalis.

Complete the Irisalis encounter
With the Legendary Aniipod in your bag, enter Rift Exploration: Irisalis. Defeat Irisalis: Rampage, approach her and choose Soothe, then hold Become allies! The objective reads “Soothe the Legendary Aniimo and earn its approval.” A Bonding cutscene follows, and Irisalis joins you.
- 1Prepare before entering
Bring a full team, healing items and your highest-level Aniimo. Irisalis is a Grass DPS, and Fire, Wind and Dark attacks are super effective against Grass on the Aniimo type chart. Use the team planner to check the four slots before the fight.
- 2Enter the rift
Enter Rift Exploration: Irisalis with the pod in your bag. A full team wipe no longer ejects you from the rift, so you can keep fighting.
- 3Defeat Irisalis, then Soothe her
Win the battle against Irisalis: Rampage, approach her and choose Soothe, then hold Become allies! to twine with her. A full team wipe no longer throws you out of the rift, and once you have twined with Irisalis you can no longer enter it.
The follow-up Windchase Departure pod
After crafting the Irisalis pod, the activity unlocks Legendary Aniipod: Windchase Departure. Each craft costs 49 Irisalis Petals, with a maximum of 10 crafts. The official announcement calls it Windchaser’s Departure, and the activity rules call it Legendary Aniipod: Departure with the Wind.
Blessing Gifts, the stage that sells this pod, opens the moment you craft the Irisalis pod. The pod also works on eggs: use it on an egg in the Hatchinator and the Aniimo that hatches has Perfect Potential, is Sparkling and carries the exclusive Sparkling effect for the Departure with the Wind season. The eggs and hatching guide covers the Hatchinator.
Compare both recipes and their item pages in the Legendary Journey catalog. Check the in-game event panel for the crafting stage available to your character.
The Legendary Journey Shop
The Redeem tab of the Legendary Journey Shop is open with the Iris Companion stage. It sells three items. The Breezy Mission Letter is the only one bought with Glimmer, and it is the largest weekly source of Petals.
| Item | Cost | Limit | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Breezy Mission Letter | 428 Glimmer | 15 a week | 1 Irisalis Flower, which opens into 5 Irisalis Petals, plus a random number of Legendary Chests |
| Floral Rainbow Feather | 30 Irisalis Petals | Unlocks after you craft the Irisalis pod | Irisalis’s Bonded Held Item. Its core effect: summoned clones deal 30% more damage |
| Glimmering Driftshadow | 2 Irisalis Petals | Unlocks after you craft the Irisalis pod | An appearance item that changes part of an Aniimo’s look |
After Irisalis: Memory: The Faded Rainbow
Clearing the main story chapter Rainbow of the Ground opens Memory: The Faded Rainbow, a solo rematch with Irelia. Break the Fire, Grass and Water pillars to wake her, then defeat her. The chest after the fight costs 50 Primegy per claim, and you can claim it twice a week. The count resets every Monday at 04:00 on your server clock.
| Reward per claim | Amount | Per week (2 claims) |
|---|---|---|
| Irisalis Petals | 3 | 6 |
| Safaris | 250 | 500 |
| Windborn Stamps | 20 | 40 |
| Credits | 50,000 | 100,000 |
How many Irisalis Petals you can earn
One-time sources pay 107 Irisalis Petals. Three weekly sources pay up to 85 more every week, and each allowance resets on Monday at 04:00. The letter allowance increased from five to fifteen; spending the full allowance costs 6,420 Glimmer.
| Source | Irisalis Petals |
|---|---|
| One-time: Main Story 12, Journey Quests 10, gathering 8, Alpha first clears 17, Elite Pathfinder Challenges 7, Branch Nurturing 18, Silver Badges 14, Aniimo research topics 16, Tracing the Trail 5 | 107 in total |
| Memory: The Faded Rainbow, 2 chests at 50 Primegy each | 6 a week |
| Stamp Shop, 50 Windborn Stamps per Petal | 4 a week |
| Breezy Mission Letters, 15 at 428 Glimmer each | 75 a week |
Buying everything costs 619 Petals: 99 for the Irisalis pod, 490 for ten Windchase Departure pods and 30 for the Floral Rainbow Feather. The larger letter allowance removes the old 527-Petal budget ceiling. Reserve the 99-Petal unlock first, then the 30-Petal Feather if you plan to use Irisalis in combat, before spending the remainder on appearance rolls or seasonal pods.
The template for future Legendary Aniimo
Pawprint uses this design as the template for every Legendary Aniimo encounter to come. Everyday exploration and catching build token progress, the player crafts a personal pod, and that pod opens the Legendary Aniimo’s own rift, where you defeat it and Soothe it.
What the Legendary label means
Irisalis has the Legendary evolutionary stage and is the first Legendary Aniimo introduced through this story encounter. It is No.10001 in the launch Aniilog and a Grass DPS. Evolutionary stage and individual Potential are separate systems.
Frequently asked
Do I need to beat Irisalis more than once?
No. Defeat Irisalis: Rampage once in Rift Exploration: Irisalis, then choose Soothe and hold Become allies! to twine with her. Your crafted Legendary Aniipod: Irisalis gets you into the rift; you do not throw it.
Can the Irisalis encounter be repeated?
Not after you twine with her. Once Irisalis follows you, you can no longer enter Rift Exploration: Irisalis. Inside the rift, a full team wipe no longer ejects you.
How many Irisalis Petals do I need?
The Irisalis pod costs 99 Irisalis Petals and can be crafted once. After crafting it, each Windchase Departure pod costs 49 petals, with a maximum of ten crafts, and the Floral Rainbow Feather costs 30 in the Legendary Journey Shop. Everything together is 619 Petals (99 + 490 + 30). Collection milestones at 20, 40, 60 and 80 Petals pay Glimmer, and any milestone you leave unclaimed is sent by mail.
Is Legendary the same as Potential?
Irisalis has the Legendary evolutionary stage. That is separate from its Potential, which describes individual quality. Irisalis is No.10001 in the launch Aniilog and a Grass DPS.
