What the main story is, and where to find it
Open the Log and you get four tabs: Lore, Mission, Journey and Clue. The main story lives under Lore, in a list the game labels Main Story, and it is the only quest line that gates systems for everyone. Journey holds the regional stories, Mission holds the repeatable work, and Clue collects the notes you pick up along the way.
Five chapters carry 15 story quests between them. Each quest prints its own objective list, its recommended level and its reward tiles before you accept it, and the tracker follows one quest at a time. Sitting beside them is a second Lore line, the Growth Story, which holds the eight title assessments that raise your Pathfinder Level cap. You need both: the main story stalls at three separate points until a Growth Story promotion moves your cap.

Level and title gates on the story
Three story quests are gated, and each gate is the same shape: a Pathfinder Level, a title, and a number of required Elite Training quests. Miss any one of the three and the quest stays greyed out in the Log.
| Story quest | Pathfinder Level | Title | Elite Training |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fragrant Colors | 25 | Student II | Chapter One complete |
| Ancient Sacred Fragrance | 35, then 45 | Student III, then Wayfarer II | Chapter 2, then Chapter 4 |
| Rainbow of the Ground | 50 | Wayfarer III | Chapter Five complete |

The assessments that raise your level cap
Your Pathfinder Level cap is set by your title, not by experience. Each title covers a band of levels, and when you hit the top of that band you take the promotion assessment for it: a quiz, a short errand, then a duel against the Institute senior who holds the badge. The assessments are the Growth Story chapter, and they are what unlocks Homeland, Held Items, Capability Awakening and Operation: Egg Heist.
| Title | Level band | Promotion assessment | Opponent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Student I | 1 to 25 | Dewdrop Crystal's Resonance | Senior Wally, Sea of Flowers |
| Student II | 25 to 35 | Legacy's Protection | Jilly, Beast Fang Ridge |
| Student III | 35 to 40 | Stardust's Blessing | Loulla, Berylline Vale |
| Wayfarer I | 40 to 45 | Core's Nurture | Aster, Rosetower Woods |
| Wayfarer II | 45 to 50 | The Secret on the Wind | Wendell, Zephyrus Landbridge |
| Wayfarer III | 50 to 55 | Song of Tideblossom Coast | Senior Cecelia, Tideblossom Coast |
| Trailblazer I | 55 to 60 | None in this build | Instructor Lita holds the Glory Badge |

- 5 min
Wally opens the ladder at Pathfinder Level 25 and the client posts its own element recommendation for every duel. Read the card below, match one of the recommended elements, and keep a second Aniimo on the bench for the member that resists your first pick.
After Trailblazer I the table runs out of promotions. The client carries a Trailblazer II row at Level 65 and prerequisite quests for Level 65 and Level 70, but no assessment exists to reach them, so 60 is the working Pathfinder Level cap and the training level cap for your Aniimo stops at 60 with it.
What the story unlocks, feature by feature
Two features come straight out of chapter 1. Everything else in the table is title-gated, which is the same thing as assessment-gated, because a title only moves when you pass its promotion.
| Feature | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Character management | Institute enrollment, in chapter 1 |
| Aniilog | Chapter 1, after you upload your first catch results |
| Elite Training Program | Student I |
| Companion Handbook | Student I |
| Events, Shop, Team and Mail | Student I |
| Homeland | Student II |
| Resonance Star-Up | Student II |
| Held Items | Student III |
| Capability Awakening | Wayfarer I |
| Holo-Battle Sim | Level 45 and Wayfarer II |
| Operation: Egg Heist | Level 50 and Wayfarer III |
| Holo-Battle Interlink | Level 55 and Trailblazer I |
Everything the story pays
The 15 main story quests hand over 418,000 Credits, 11,800 Safaris, 59,027 Aniimo EXP and a shelf of catching gear. The nine Growth Story quests add 350,000 Credits and the material stack you need for your first Held Items.
| Reward | Main story | Growth Story |
|---|---|---|
| Credits | 418,000 | 350,000 |
| Safaris | 11,800 | 2,800 |
| Aniimo EXP | 59,027 | none |
| Aniipod Mega | 50 | 140 |
| Aniipod Pro | 50 | none |
| Growth Fruit | 90 | none |
| Irisalis Petal | 12 | none |
| Sparkling Crystal | none | 350 |
| Breezy Plains Dewdrop Crystal | none | 100 |
| Aniimo | none | Sherro Prismana, Somniwing |
How long the main story takes
The story is not a sitting. Its 15 quests carry 159 tracked objectives, but the schedule is set by the gates rather than by the objectives: you cannot start chapter 4 below Pathfinder Level 25, you cannot finish chapter 5 below Level 50, and each of those gates also wants a completed Elite Training chapter behind it.
- 1Chapters 1 to 3
Ungated. Run them straight through from the prologue to the Bloom Festival that never starts.
- 2Stop at chapter 4
Level 25, the Student II title and Elite Training Chapter One. Take the Dewdrop Crystal assessment here.
- 3Chapter 5, first half
Level 35 and Student III for Ancient Sacred Fragrance, then Level 45 and Wayfarer II for the second set of spices.
- 4Chapter 5, finish
Level 50 and Wayfarer III for Rainbow of the Ground, then A New Journey closes the line.
That makes the main story a spine you return to rather than a single run. The efficient pattern is to clear every ungated quest, push the current Elite Training chapter until the next promotion opens, take the assessment, then come back for the story quest it unblocked. The Pathfinder leveling guide covers the fastest Safaris sources between gates.
Where to go next
Chapter 1 has its own walkthrough with every step written out. For the systems the story hands you, start with the quest system hub, the catching guide and the Twining guide. The Sanctum in chapter 2 is covered in the First Spark walkthrough, and its exact atlas pin sits in Nimbus Fields.
Frequently asked
How many chapters does the Aniimo main story have?
Five. Journey to Idyll, Setting Out Again, Journey to Bloomville, Flowers and Butterfly Shadows and Rainbow of the Ground, carrying 15 quests between them. A separate Growth Story line adds the eight title assessments and a closing quest.
What level do you need to finish the Aniimo main story?
Pathfinder Level 50 with the Wayfarer III title, plus a completed Elite Training Chapter Five. The earlier gates sit at Level 25 with Student II and at Level 35 and 45 inside a single quest.
Does the main story unlock Homeland?
Indirectly. Homeland opens at the Student II title, and the only route to that title is the Dewdrop Crystal assessment in the Growth Story, taken at Pathfinder Level 25.
Can you go past Pathfinder Level 60?
Not in this build. Trailblazer I caps you at 60 and carries no promotion assessment, so the Trailblazer II row and the Level 65 and 70 prerequisites in the client have no route into them yet.
What does the main story pay in total?
The 15 main story quests pay 418,000 Credits, 11,800 Safaris, 59,027 Aniimo EXP, 100 assorted Aniipods and 12 Irisalis Petals. The Growth Story adds 350,000 Credits and two Aniimo.
