What happens in chapter 2
Dr. Lewis sends you back into the field with two jobs: feed the Breezy Plains Branch enough Lumin Amber to wake it up, then finish the freshman guidance lesson in Nimbus Fields, which is where the game teaches Sanctums, evolution and area badges in one run.
Show the plot
The first quest follows Nicole down into the fields. You touch a Bloom to sync the map, gather Lumin Amber along the riverbank, catch a Blessed Budclaw for the amber it carries, then take the haul to the Branch and activate it. Dr. Lewis meets you there, and the quest closes in the idol ruins where your starter finds something in the stone.
The second quest hands you to Sheepy for the lesson itself. You Twine with your Emberpup to slip in with a wild Emberpup family, follow them to the Sanctum, pass its trial, bring the Emberpup to Level 12 so it can become a Flameruff, catch a Flutternym and an Iris, put down a Turbo and raise Helion or Lunara to Level 15. Dr. Lewis explains Elite Training at the end, the area badge lands, and the wind carries an invitation to Bloomville.

Setting Out Again
Where this happens
Follow Nicole down and touch the Bloom
A Bloom is the flower the Vein energy surfaces through, and activating one turns it into a fast travel point. Press C on it. The first one also syncs the map module, which is what puts area information on your atlas.
Collect Lumin Amber before you head to the Branch
Lumin Amber: Breezy Plains is the region's own amber, and it exists for one job: Branches in Breezy Plains absorb its energy to grow. Pick up every glowing shard on the path; the route in the first 30 Lumin Amber guide covers the rest of the region.
Find Nicole by the river and gather from the water
The riverside carries its own amber nodes and the objective marks them. Clear them as you follow Nicole along the bank, because the next check wants the full 2 again.
Take the amber to the Branch and activate it
The Breezy Plains Branch sits at 1151, 1573 on the atlas. Open the Breezy Plains Branch pin, hand the amber over and the Branch wakes. It keeps taking amber afterwards: the Branch has 15 levels, each one 10 points further up, and every level pays its own reward. The Nurture guide covers what the grown Branch gives back.

Chasing the Clouds
Where this happens
- Nimbus Fields
- First Spark Sanctum
- Solo trial
Ride the wind out to the grassland and activate the Bloom
The objective reads Ride the wind to the grassland, so follow the marker onto the wind and let it carry you out to the open field. Activate the Bloom on the far side before you talk to anyone; it is the fast travel point you will use for the rest of the chapter.
Find Sheepy for the freshman guidance lesson
Sheepy hands out the checklist below and takes the report at the end. Everything after this point can be done in any order once it is on your objective list.
Pass the First Spark Sanctum trial
A solo room. It lends you a trial Emberpup and teaches Fire Bolt on four targets, so you do not need a Fire Aniimo of your own to clear it. Full route and all four chests are in the First Spark walkthrough.
Raise Emberpup to Level 12 and evolve it into Flameruff
The evolution has exactly two conditions: clear Sanctum: First Spark, and bring the Emberpup to Aniimo level 12. It costs no materials at all. The chapter pays 10 Growth Flowers worth 5,000 Aniimo EXP each, which covers most of the climb on its own, and the evolution into Flameruff is a confirmation prompt once both conditions are green.
Catch a Flutternym
Flutternym is Wind, so Electric and Light take 1.6x off it and your new Flameruff does nothing special. Your starter is the cleanest weakener here.
Raise Helion or Lunara to Level 15
Whichever starter you took in the cavern. Three levels above the Emberpup target, so start it early and let the Turbo fight and the catches feed it.
Report to Sheepy, then talk to Dr. Lewis about Elite Training
Dr. Lewis uses the debrief to introduce the Elite Training Program, which is the course track every later story gate checks. Read the Elite Training guide before you pick your first chapter.
Catch 7 different Aniimo in Nimbus Fields for the area badge
The last objective is a badge, not a talk: the client wants seven distinct species caught inside Nimbus Fields, which awards the region's first Area Collection badge, Skypasture. The roster below is the full list to pick from.

Every Aniimo you can catch in Nimbus Fields
The badge objective wants 7 different species caught inside the region, and Nimbus Fields holds 13 on the atlas. Three of them are quest catches you make anyway, the Budclaw, the Flutternym and the Iris, so the badge needs four more species rather than a separate trip.

Keep catching in the region after the badge lands. Area catch completion is what a Branch hand-in checks later: the Bronze tier of the region badge at 40 percent completion is the second half of the Nurture unlock, and the Lumin Amber route tracks both counts together.
What comes next
Chapter 3, Journey to Bloomville, starts on the road out of Nimbus Fields, with sleeping Aniimo lining the verge and a perfumer waiting at the far end. It is the last ungated chapter, so you can run straight into it with the Flameruff and the starter you just raised.
Frequently asked
Is Setting Out Again level gated?
No. Both chapter 2 quests are ungated, and so is chapter 3. The first gate in the main story is Fragrant Colors in chapter 4, which wants Pathfinder Level 25, the Student II title and a finished Elite Training Chapter One.
Which Sanctum does Chasing the Clouds need?
Sanctum: First Spark, the solo room in Nimbus Fields at 1335, 2002 on the atlas. It is not Sanctum: Chasing Clouds, despite the quest name. Use the First Spark walkthrough.
How do you evolve Emberpup into Flameruff?
Two conditions and no materials: clear Sanctum: First Spark once, and bring the Emberpup to Aniimo level 12. Both are objectives in this chapter, which is why the quest sends you to the Sanctum before it asks for the evolution.
What is a Blessed Budclaw?
A Budclaw carrying Vein energy. Catching a Blessed Aniimo activates the Lumin Power attached to it, which condenses into Lumin Amber and drops for you, so it doubles as an amber pickup.
How do you get the Nimbus Fields area badge?
Catch 7 different species inside Nimbus Fields. That awards Skypasture, the region's first Area Collection badge, and the region holds 13 species to choose from.
