What happens in chapter 4
Chapter 4 is the first story chapter that stops you at the door. All three of its quests happen in the Sea of Flowers and in Lumenfly Valley behind it, and the work splits cleanly: one long preparation quest, one short entry quest, and a boss.
Show the plot
Sunia the perfumer needs two things before anyone can cross into Lumenfly Valley: a fragrance the valley answers to, and a butterfly willing to lead the way. Chapter 4 is you fetching both, then walking in and meeting the Aniimo who rules the place.
Fragrant Colors sends you into the Sea of Flowers to find the Iris fields. Twining with an Iris and dancing among the wild ones is what draws the fragrance out, and an Irisal further along the road has to be woken through a fight before the ingredients are finished. A Flutternym catch closes the preparation.
The Land of Dancing Illusions lights the incense at the barrier and drops the whole party into the valley, where Sunia walks off mid-conversation and a ten-year-old wish starts explaining itself.
The Land where Dreams Come True follows Snowy and three dream blossoms to the throne at the centre. Velouria shows you the dreams she has been keeping, the fight settles who is telling the truth, and the chapter ends with the Ancient Spice Recipe in your hands and the road to Irelia open.

How to unlock Fragrant Colors
Fragrant Colors is one of only three gated quests in the whole main story, and its gate checks three separate things at once. Two of them are chained: the title only comes from a promotion assessment, and that assessment expects a finished Elite Training chapter behind it.
| Requirement | How you clear it |
|---|---|
| Pathfinder Level 25 | Safaris are Pathfinder experience. Catch reports, Daily Activity quests and exploration all pay them; the Pathfinder leveling guide ranks the sources. |
| Student II title | Pass Dewdrop Crystal's Resonance, the first promotion assessment, against Senior Wally at Pathfinder Level 25. Titles are what move the cap, not experience. |
| Elite Training Chapter One | Clear the required courses in First Steps with Aniimo. The Elite Training guide lists every course and its payout. |

Fragrant Colors
Where this happens
- Sea of Flowers
- Iris fields
- Flutternym fields
- Lumenfly Valley entrance
Travel to the Sea of Flowers
The region runs a level band of 19 to 28, so a party that just cleared the Level 25 gate is already inside it. Track the quest first, then open the Sea of Flowers on the atlas and take the nearest teleport.
Find where the Irises gather
Iris is a Grass Aniimo and it spawns in clusters rather than singly, so one marker usually means four or five of them. The Iris spawn pins cover the whole region.
Own an Iris
The objective checks the species in your box, not the form, so a Highland, Forest, Grassland, Plateau, Mountain Woods or Prismana Iris all count, and an Iris you caught hours ago counts too. Throw at full odds with an Aniipod Pro if the first pod bounces.
Twine with your Iris and dance with the wild ones
Deploy the Iris, press the Twine key and walk into the group. The objective clears from the dance itself, not from combat, so put your weapons away. Twining covers the controls if this is the first time you have used it outside a tutorial.
Set up the fragrance
The marker moves to the crafting spot and the step is a short walk. Nothing is missable behind you.
Go to the Lumenfly Valley entrance and find the Irisal
Irisal is the evolved form of Iris and the one asleep at the valley mouth. Follow the quest marker rather than the terrain; the approach doubles back.
Catch a Flutternym
Flutternym is Wind, and the one that spawns here carries the Sea of Flowers regional form, which adds Grass on top. Any form satisfies the objective. The Flutternym pins sit close to the Iris fields.

The Land of Dancing Illusions
Where this happens
- Lumenfly Valley
- 4 objectives
- No gate
Light the incense and open the barrier
The barrier only answers to the fragrance you just made, so this is a conversation rather than a puzzle. Take the prompt and the wall opens.
Twine with the Flutternym family and fly deeper
The valley is a flight route. The objective repeats across three checkpoints and the game expects a Flutternym or its evolution Gracewing on your bar, so keep the one you just caught deployed instead of swapping back to your damage Aniimo.
Watch A Wish from Ten Years Ago
A dialogue beat rather than an objective. It is the first time the Bloom Festival gets tied to a specific promise, and it sets up everything Velouria says later.
Bring Sunia back
Sunia walks off mid-scene. Follow the marker to the end of the path and the quest closes on its own.

The Land where Dreams Come True
Where this happens
- Lumenfly Valley
- Boss: Velouria
- 9 objectives
Talk to Snowy
Snowy is waiting at the entrance and starts the dream-blossom run. Everything after this is on rails until the throne.
Touch the strange blossom
The first dream blossom scatters Butterfly Shadows the moment you touch it. Read the prompt before you move; the gather has a radius rather than a target.
Gather the Butterfly Shadows, three times
Three dream blossoms, three gathers, and each one advances the same tracker. Between them the objective flips to Follow the Flutternym shadows, which is a trail of lights rather than a marker. Lose it and it re-lights where you last stood.
Listen to Velouria twice
Two of the blossoms play a dream instead of scattering. They are not skippable and they are where the Ancient Spice Recipe first gets mentioned.
Follow the light path and fly to the throne
The last stretch needs flight again, so keep the Flutternym family Aniimo deployed. The throne sits above the valley floor and there is no ground route up.
Leave the valley
The closing objective walks you back out to the entrance and hands over the chapter reward.

What comes next
Chapter 5, Rainbow of the Ground, picks up from Velouria and the recipe she hands over. It needs Pathfinder Level 35 and the Student III title just to start, then re-gates halfway through at Level 45 and Wayfarer II, so the sensible order is two more promotion assessments before you go anywhere near Bloomville again.
Before you move on, the 4 Irisalis Petals this chapter paid are worth putting somewhere you will remember. They go into the same pool as the weekly event Petals, and the Irisalis unlock guide lists every other source of the 99 the Legendary Aniipod needs.
Frequently asked
Why is Fragrant Colors locked in Aniimo?
It checks three things together: Pathfinder Level 25, the Student II title and a cleared Elite Training Chapter One. The title only comes from the first promotion assessment, so reaching Level 25 alone leaves the quest greyed out in the Log.
Where do you catch an Iris and a Flutternym for Fragrant Colors?
Both spawn in the Sea of Flowers. Open the Iris spawn pins and the Flutternym pins; the two groups sit close together. Any form of either species satisfies the objective, including one you caught before the quest started.
How do you beat Velouria in Lumenfly Valley?
She fights as a Somniwing, which is Grass and Wind. Open with Fire, Electric or Light for 1.6x, and leave your Iris on the bench because Grass is cut to 0.625x against her.
What does Flowers and Butterfly Shadows pay?
Across its three quests: 120,000 Credits, 3,600 Safaris, 18,400 Aniimo EXP, 30 Growth Fruit, 20 Aniipod Pro, 20 Aniipod Mega and 4 Irisalis Petals.
