What the Prismana Promise is
The Prismana Promise is a permanent newcomer event with two phases. Phase one is the free pick: the event screen shows 14 Prismana Aniimo, you select one, and you claim it once your character title reaches Wayfarer I. Phase two, the Prismana Pact, opens the moment you claim and turns the same event into a collection index. A Prismana form is a rare alternate version of a species with its own colouring and its own element line-up, and the Promise is the only place the game gives one away.

Ten years ago, during the Bloom Festival’s Prismana Flow, the Institute was fortunate enough to preserve several Prismana Aniimo. With the Institute’s careful care, they’ve grown up to this day, waiting to meet the very best Pathfinder. Go choose one. It is destined to walk beside you on the journeys ahead.
When it unlocks and when you can claim
Two different moments get confused constantly, because the event appears long before it pays out. The tab opens during the opening chapter of the story. The claim waits on your character title.
- 1Finish the opening story beat
The Prismana Promise tab appears in the event list once the first main quest chain completes, well inside your first session. Open it and select a Prismana straight away so the slot is never empty.
- 2Climb to the Wayfarer I title
Titles are separate from Pathfinder Level. Student III caps you at Pathfinder Level 40; clearing the required Elite Training courses opens the Wayfarer I promotion assessment, and passing it lifts the ceiling to 45. That assessment is the duel against Loulla, walked through with its deck and its theory answers in the Veinwalker Assessment guide. Wayfarer I is the fifth title in the chain and the same promotion that switches on Capability Awakening.
- 3Claim, then check your selection one last time
Reopen the event screen before you press claim. The selection can be swapped any number of times before that press and never afterwards.
- 4Phase two unlocks on the claim
The Prismana Pact index opens the moment the claimed Aniimo lands in your box, and your claim counts as its first registration.

Which free Prismana to pick for your team
The pool has no wrong answer, so the useful question is which hole in your party the free slot should fill. Read down until a line describes you.
Nobody in your party heals
Sustain is the first wall a new Pathfinder hits, usually in the first Sanctum with a timer.
Take Glacy. It is the pool’s only Heal unit and its Water and Light pair is unique here.
Your rotations stall before the ultimate comes back
Energy generation, not damage, is what caps a beginner’s burst.
Take Hexxin, the only REGEN unit on the list.
Bosses survive your stagger windows
BREAK is the stat that opens those windows, and three of the pool specialise in it.
Magmarex carries the highest BREAK, Panpanta the highest stat total, and Blazen the published build. Read the combat guide for what a BREAK bar actually does.
You cannot reach half the map yet
Traversal is gated on mobility skills, not on level.
Take Cornet for Fly Lv.3, the best traversal unlock in the pool, or Pawney for a Hookshot. The traversal guide ranks every mobility skill.
You already follow a published build
A free Aniimo that slots into a party you were going to run anyway is worth more than a better Aniimo you never field.
Thornblade and Blazen both anchor build pages on this site. Check the build hub before you claim.
You just want the one you like looking at
Nothing in this pool is a power decision, so preference is a legitimate tiebreaker.
Take it. A Prismana you enjoy fielding gets invested in, and investment is what actually moves a roster.
The one trap is claiming a species whose Basic form you were about to catch anyway, since the pick is better spent on a species you do not have.
Nothing in the pool is exclusive
This is the part that settles most of the anxiety. All 14 Prismana in the pool also appear in the open world under Prismana Flow, the weather state you raise a region into through Nurture. Choosing one does not lock the other 13 away. It moves one of them to the front of the queue and saves you the Vein work.
What the pool does not contain is more interesting. Phase two’s index is 18 Prismana wide, and the four it adds beyond the pool are the ones you cannot claim: Prismana Glynsera, Prismana Inferlupa, Prismana Melloblum and Prismana Waleetle. Each appears only during its own regional Vein surge, as a hidden spawn inside that week’s window.

Does a Prismana add combat power
No. A Prismana form carries the same six base stats as its Basic form, unit for unit, and it learns the same skills, the same ultimate and the same mobility skill. Its Personality is drawn from the same pool with the same weights. The only field that changes is the element line-up, and that changes what it is strong and weak against rather than how hard it hits.

| Six base stats | Identical on all 14 |

| Change freelyYour selection on the event screen | Yes, without limit | Swap it as often as you like right up to the claim. |
| One press onlyPressing claim | No | One claim per account. The other 13 stay catchable in the world but never free. |
| Rolled onceThe Personality your claim rolls | No | It is drawn from that species’ own Personality pool, the same one a wild catch draws from. |
| Swappable laterThe Prismana form itself | Yes | A form change moves an owned Aniimo between the variants you have registered. |
| Counts oncePhase two progress | Not applicable | Registering the same Prismana twice never advances the index a second time. |
Phase two: the Prismana Pact index
Claiming opens the Prismana Pact, a registration index covering 18 Prismana: the 14 in the pool plus the four hidden surge spawns. Each new type you obtain raises completion once. A duplicate adds nothing, and the Prismana you claimed counts as your first entry, so the Pact starts at 1 of 18 for free.

Ten of the 18 is a season’s work rather than a weekend’s, and the cheapest route to it is the free daily Nurture charge in whichever region is currently surging. The Prismana guide maps which region each form spawns in.
Rank the pool against your own roster
A universal ranking is the wrong shape for this decision, because the right pick depends on which Aniimo you already own and which role your party is short of. The Prismana Picker opens on the Promise pool by default, takes the forms you have marked as owned, and returns two explainable candidates with the reasoning attached.
Frequently asked
Which free Prismana should I pick?
Pick for the role your party lacks. Glacy is the only HEAL unit in the pool and Hexxin is the only ENERGY unit, so those two fill gaps nothing else on the list can. For damage, Magmarex and Panpanta bring the largest BREAK contributions, and Cornet brings the best traversal. The Prismana Picker ranks all 14 against the Aniimo you already own.
When does the Prismana Promise unlock?
The event tab opens during the first main quest chain, so you can select a Prismana in your first session. Claiming it needs the Wayfarer I title, which the European client labels Junior Wayfarer. Student III caps your Pathfinder Level at 40, and passing the Wayfarer I promotion assessment lifts that ceiling to 45.
Can I change my Prismana Pact choice?
Yes, as many times as you like, until you press claim. After the claim the selection is fixed and the event moves to its second phase. There is no closing date on the event, so there is no reason to claim before you have decided.
Does a Prismana Aniimo have better stats?
No. All 14 share their Basic form’s six base stats exactly, along with the same skills, ultimate, mobility skill and Personality odds. What changes is the element line-up, on 10 of the 14. Actual strength comes from Potential, which is rolled per Aniimo and unrelated to the form.
Is the Promise the only way to get a Prismana Aniimo?
No. Every Prismana in the pool also appears in the wild once a region reaches Prismana Flow, which the free daily Nurture charge builds toward, and Prismana Eggs hatch one outright. The Promise simply gives one away with no Vein work attached.
